A native Texan, Leigh Kimball, OD, joined Dr. Blount's practice in 1996 and became his partner in 1999. She was born and raised in the piney woods outside of Jasper, Texas. Dr. Kimball received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989. Aftergraduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1993, she practiced in Austin for three years before coming to Beaumont to be closer to home and family in 1996. Dr. Kimball is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity, and is a former chairman of the Operations Committee for the TSO system.

Dr. Kimball is therapeutically licensed and practices full scope primary care optometry. She especially enjoys the large pediatric portion of her practice, as taking care of the bright eyes of children always enhances her day. Her other primary interest is fitting specialty contact lenses, including bifocal, astigmatic, and post op refractive surgery patients. She never backs down from a challenging contact lens case, exhausting all options to find the best possible solution.

Dr. Kimball has two children: David (16) and Sophie (9). Her time away from the office is primarily spent with the kids, actively volunteering with the school and attending soccer games, ballet performances, band concerts, and various other productions. When time allows, she enjoys travelling, snorkelling, bicycling, and just relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family.
