“I think the MSO program is a fantastic way to encourage new docs into business ownership. So many of the young graduates I talk to are fully confident in their abilities to be a doctor and handle the clinic side of things, but they are concerned about their ability to “run” the business as they feel ill-prepared to manage the admin, insurance/billing, and HR duties of private practice. The MSO model is a way for them to start out focusing on what they’re good at – providing excellent eye care and promoting themselves in their community. This MSO model is also a great way for the more seasoned docs to let go of the reins a bit and be able to enjoy their success outside of the office rather than being so fully involved day-today. They can allow someone else to take on the pressures that have driven them into work every day for the last umpteen years and be able to trust it’s in good hands, and they will have a well-functioning system whenever they want to take time away.”
