How to Submit CE Reimbursements in 2021

Recognizing the importance of both doctors and office associates continually learning and improving their clinical skills and knowledge, the TSO Network will reimburse network members and office associates for the cost of continuing education within one year of the attendance of the education. The criteria is that the education must be approved for either hours recognized by the Texas Optometry Board, the American Board of Opticianry, the National Contact Lens Examiners, or the Commission on Paraoptometric Certification. If the education is received at a conference, meeting or convention for which there is a registration fee, then the fee is prorated by the total number of approved continuing education hours available and/or attended for the conference, convention or meeting.

The TSO Network will not reimburse doctors or office associates for travel or lodging expenses associated with the education course or courses, but only for the education itself.

In addition to continuing education reimbursement, the TSO Network will also reimburse network members and/or office associates for the following certification program’s testing examination’s fee: ABO, NCLE, CPO, CPOA, CPOT, CPOC. The network members and/or office associates may receive only one reimbursement per examination fee per person.

To request reimbursement, please write out a request by letter or email to Mary Han, Office Administrator, explaining the course topics and total number of hours taken and the cost of the education. Please attach or include copies of receipts and verification that the education was purchased and attended. If requesting reimbursement for a certification’s testing examination fee, please write out a request by letter or email stating the exam, the cost of the exam, along with the exam results (verification that the exam was taken and scored). Reimbursement will not be contingent on the score of the exam.
