Congratulations to Dr. Barton and the Portland TSO team on their successful partnership with the Corpus Christi Firefighters. The Portland TSO office participated in the C.A.R.E. breast cancer awareness event for the month of October.
C.A.R.E stands for Cancer Awareness Relief Effort. The non-profit 501(c)3 organization has been selling T-shirts for the cause since 2009 and donated over half a million dollars to the American Cancer Society, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, First Friday, Triumph Over Cancer, as well as local firefighters and their families who are battling cancer.
The Dr. Barton and his team wore matching C.A.R.E. shirts in the office and had a donation bucket available for patients to contribute to.
“We offered the donation bucket to any patient that receive a no-charge service and insisted on offering payment. Our team displayed pride to serve and give back to a cause, and that alone increased awareness of C.A.R.E. We also utilized the Betsy Johnson brand during the month of October, who also has a promotes breast cancer awareness,” said Jackie Barton.
