Dr. Jason Egbert graduated with honors from BYU – Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Chemistry. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry, graduating with honors. He received training in specialty contact lens fitting at the Moran Eye Center of the University of Utah Medical School. He also received extensive training providing pre and postoperative care to Lasik and cataract patients at a renowned Lasik center in Utah, Hoopes Vision. He also thoroughly enjoyed his time at both the Garden Grove Children’s clinic and the University Eye Care Center in LA, providing low-income children with eye care. Young patients remain some of his favorites to have in his exam chair. His education allowed him to serve some of the people he admires most: America’s veterans and active military men and women, having rotated through the VA Hospital in SLC, UT. Before college, Dr. Egbert served a two-year mission for the LDS church in Houston, Texas where he became fluent in Spanish and fell in love with the Southern charm of Texas and its friendly people. Texas made itself a spot in his heart and he and his wife are excited to make Kerrville their permanent home. Dr. Egbert loves caring for patients of all ages and will take the time to provide the best solutions for your eye care needs.
