Regional Manager’s Corner

In 1935, Franklin D. Roosevelt was President of the United States; Amelia Earhart was first to fly solo from Hawaii to California; The Hoover Dam was dedicated and Elvis Presley was born. In Beaumont, Texas, the Rogers brothers were in the planning stages of opening the first Texas State Optical! Just as they planned on launching the TSO Network back then, they had a vision. As the year of 2016 begins, let us examine the components of what your business plan for your practice may consist of and how the TSO Network team can assist you in making it happen.

PEOPLE: The recently introduced Associate Training Program has received commentary from the Doctors of TSO and seasoned managers of the TSO Network that it will assist you in creating the best patient experience. It’s the first of more segments to come; including management training for your leaders and creation of pathways for ABO Certification and Para Optometric Certification.

The TSO Network team offers a variety of resources to assist in this area ranging from weekly regional manager conference calls, monthly lunch and learn webinar, and in-office visits to meet your desired target of requested training. Looking ahead, the creating of an educational calendar will be an integral part of your business plan and the TSO Network staff will be there to assist with support.

PRODUCT: Vendor agreements completed by members of the Vendor Relations Committee offer the Doctors of TSO the best value in frames, contact lenses, lens fabrication and accessories in the current market. Your market managers are willing to complete an inventory review at each TSO office to ensure the proper levels of products are in place. A review of practice revenue sources and examination of various ratios are available with the Edge program, at no cost to the Doctors of TSO. Let’s measure efficiency together.

PRESENTATION: Recent agreements obtained with Stanley Signs and Eye Designs will provide an avenue to update the appearance of each TSO office at an affordable price point to ensure you are able to integrate changes into your 2016 business plan. The support from the TSO Network staff are at your service and dedicated to help build the TSO brand that separate us from the rest. This year Vision Quest in Nashville will offer an opportunity to obtain insight in this area.

PROMOTION: The caring message of the TSO brand is displayed from our digital media programs to the indoor signage in your windows. The updated TSO website, which will be live mid-January, will enable your practice to aggressively compete for the patients who seek services online. The marketing team awaits to assist you in developing this caring message to promote your TSO office. Implementing a quarterly marketing plan into your 2016 business plan is recommended.

MANAGE CARE: The lifeline of our practices that enables more patients to discover you and enable you to provide the level of care through service. The TSO Network staff will assist you with practice efficiency reviews to ensure that practice management you have in place is aggressively capturing revenue through the vision and medical plans you accept.

What’s in a business plan for 2016 is teamwork. Your market managers, including myself, are here to provide insight, recommendations and support during the development of these important goals. We look forward to providing what I’ve noted and more this year.
