6 z September 2019 Family Reunion Doctors Made a Difference with Optometry Giving Sight For many years, TSO has welcomed Optometry Giving Sight to exhibit and interact with attendees at the Family Reunion Conference. Optometry Giving Sight is the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error. During the conference, Optometry Giving Sight’s Chief Development Officer, Eric Anderson spoke with many attending TSO offices to participate in the World Sight Day Challenge. At the Family Reunion Conference, a total of 9 Doctors of TSO donated a total of $3,100 towards the World Sight Day Challenge, which is a major fundraising campaign coordinated by Optometry Giving Sight designed to raise funds for projects that provide training, establish vision centers and deliver eye care services for people who simply need an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Each year it is customary to recognize those members who have grown their practice by the largest percentage and dollar increases over the previous year. This year posted impressive growth as the competition was quite close in the second and third place members but the first place was dominating in their performance. The TSO Member posting the largest percentage increase was Dr. Roland Montemayor with his office located in Houston, Texas. Largest dollar increase was earned by Dr. Chris Warford in Baytown, Texas. Second place percentage increase was earned by Connie Banks from Stephenville, Texas and third place was earned by Dr. Phong Pham from Spring, Texas. Second place in the largest dollar increase was earned by Dr. Roland Montemayor from Houston, Texas and third place earned by Dr. Amy Bishop from Dallas, Texas. Congratulations to all five members who were impressive in their growth during 2018 over the previous year.
