September 2019 z 3 TSOWelcomes Dr. Ashlynn Dennington in Fair Oaks Dr. Ashlynn Dennington is the newest independent Doctor of Optometry that we warmly welcome to the TSO Network! Dr. Dennington purchased her Fair Oaks practice from former Doctor of TSO, Dr. Jack Rountree. Dr. Dennington received her Bachelor in Vision Science from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She then attended Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas where she received her Doctorate of Optometry. She is a member of the Texas State Optical Family of Doctors, American Optometric Association, and Texas Optometric Association. Providing the best medical care and customer service to all her patients is Dr. Denningtons’s biggest goal, and something she strives to do every day. Dr. Dennington is a Texas Native having grown up in Frisco, Texas. She now lives in San Antonio, Texas with her Fiancé Mike and their dog Gingi. In their spare time they love spending weekends in Oklahoma hunting, fishing and camping. When they aren’t hunting, they love taking trips to Disney World Florida with their friends and family. Her favorite time of the year is from the first day of October until the new year starts. Dr. Dennington’s hobbies include archery, dancing West Coast Swing, reading and traveling. TSOWelcomes Dr. Mayra Tovias in Santa Fe Welcome Dr. Mayra Tovias as a new Doctor of TSO to the TSO Network! Dr. Tovias purchased her Platinum Practice Santa Fe practice from Dr. Nelson Juarez. Mayra Tovias, O.D. grew up in the small town of Wharton, Texas, located southwest of Houston. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Tovias completed externship training at the Good Neighbor Clinic, which serves the underprivileged populations of inner Houston. While here, she had the privilege to work with specialty contact lens fits and alongside several retinal specialists affiliated with Retina Consultants of Houston. During her time there, she also took part of See to Succeed, a program that is partnered between the Houston Department of Health and Human Services and the University of Houston, San Jacinto College, Kids Vision For Life, and the Berkley Eye Center to provide free vision exams and eyewear to children and youth in need. She also trained at Coastal Eye Associates with some of the premier doctors in refractive surgery and surgical post-op management. While at Coastal, she gained valuable clinical training in cataract & LASIK surgery co-management and corneal, retinal and glaucoma conditions. Dr. Tovias is enthusiastic to be able to serve the visual needs of the community of Santa Fe and its surroundings. Welcome to the new TSO Network Update newsletter! We have made a few changes.
