September 2017 l 7 6. EyeMed and VSP are offering assistance to those who have lost their eyewear or contacts during the disaster. Send information to your patients notifying them of the complimentary assistance available to them. INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC • EyeMed members who need to replace their glasses due to storm loss should call the EyeMed disaster response team at 866.652.0018. • VSP members who need to replace their glasses or need immediate eye care due to a disaster can receive them even, if they’re not currently eligible. Simply call VSP at 800.615.1883 for an authorization. • Patients who are not VSP members can also contact their local American Red Cross to request a VSP Gift Certificate. Patients must have a Social Security number, have lost or damaged their glasses during the disaster, and have no vision insurance or no available benefits through existing vision insurance. 4. If your office can accept patients, provide access to Care Credit for those who have limited purchasing options. 5. Send branded emails through your patient relationship management system and utilize your TSO local website to inform people of what your office can help them with. a. Images to include in emails will be posted on eStore on TSONetworkUpdate.com. b. Use these images as well to post on social media and local forums. So many of us were fortunate to only endure inconveniences, but many have lost so much. Please contribute any amount you can to help those in our TSO family who need us.
