TSO Network Update - October 2017

Vol. 6, Issue 10 October 2017 I would like to extend a moment of reflection for those affected by the recent hardship to include the storms in Houston, Florida, the Caribbean, and the senseless murders in Las Vegas. Throughout these events, one thing was very obvious. Humanity is very much alive and people are stronger when they are working together to help one another. It was very evident to me that people have an almost instinctual desire to help those in need. The TSO GoFundMe account received many donations that will go to help our staff members that were most affected. Thank you to all the donors. Believe it or not, we are in the last quarter of our business year. That means it’s time to check your current numbers to make that final push to achieve your goals. It’s also a good idea to start planning your budget and goals for 2018. It’s harder to achieve your goals if you don’t measure the different pieces of your business. How many patients are you seeing in a day? How much are these patients spending? How many of your prescriptions are filled? Where can we do better? All of these metrics are essential to measure so that you can implement changes that will improve your bottom line. The greater danger for most of us is not in setting our aim too high and falling short, But in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. -Michelangelo It’s also time to ask ourselves, “How does my office look?” and “Is my office efficient?” We need to take a look at our offices from the patients point of view. I am sure, none of us would frequent nor recommend any restaurant that seems dirty, outdated and is generally unsanitary. Is it time to freshen up your office? Is there a Chairman’s CORNER - Benny Peña, OD Coming Together Again piece of equipment that needs to be updated or new technology you want to add? Are staff reviews up to date? These are all things that make an office more appealing to patients, staff, and prospective associates/ partners. It can also help with your exit strategy. I recently had my office appraised and I was shocked at the number. I will be working hard to ensure I increase the value by making sure everything is up to date and our revenue goals are in place. Make sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming shareholder meeting. Hope to see you there.
