TSO Network Update - November 2018

November 2018 z 3 Building Wealth Workshop Overview Over 25 Shareholder Doctors of TSO attended the first Building Wealth Workshop, led by TSO Director Dr. Mark Wright and Vision One Credit Union President Bob Schultz, on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Magnolia Hotel in Houston. The jam-packed workshop educated attendees on how to properly plan and manage their practice over the years so that they are not just building a practice, but building wealth. The half-day workshop taught doctors how to build wealth in their practice in order to be able to sell it at its maximum value upon retirement. “I thought the lecture was very well executed. The information was useful in both my practice as well as with my personal finances. Mr. Schultz and Dr. Wright offered excellent advice on how to identify and correct financial issues with our practices. I was surprised at howmuch they could cover in such a short amount of time. I am very glad I took the time to go to Houston for this lecture. Thanks TSO for another great event !” - Jonathan D. Sher, OD, McKinney TSO Attendees learned how to: A. How to build value in their practice over time in order to maximize return when the practice is sold at retirement; B. Understand the difference between building income vs building wealth; C. Learn how a practice is valued to determine what it is worth; D. Breakdown the steps shareholders can do to start building wealth and value in their practice. E. Differentiate between building a job and building a business that produces wealth. Welcome Back Ann Deen The Network office is pleased to announce that Ann Deen will be returning to work with the Doctors of Texas State Optical beginning Monday, November 12, 2018. Ann began working with Texas State Optical in 1996 as Managed Care Manager. When the Doctors purchased the company in 2001, she was the only employee that joined the new team. Ann’s role with the new organization was to work in the field with offices in helping them with personnel issues, billing problems, general operation administration. When the company began to grow by adding new offices, her role quickly turned to working with the young, new doctors in successfully opening their new offices. With offices opening all over the state, Ann was on the road spending time with her “adopted” family. Many of the doctors that she helped have very successful practices today and some are now in important leadership positions. Her impact on the Network is long lasting. After a few years of retirement, she has agreed to return to the TSO family and again work with new doctors who are opening new practices. She will serve in a new position called New Member Consultant and be a strong compliment to our current group of Practice Consultants. With new offices opening in Houston, San Antonio, Colleyville, Rockwall and McAllen, TX no doubt Ann will be back on the road and kept very busy. Welcome back Ann! Building Wealth Workshop attendees and Dr. Mark Wright along with Bob Schultz.
