Sharon Carter Optometric Business Consultant, Founder, Eye Care Optometric Consulting (ECOC) TSO welcomes Sharon Carter back for her second Vision Quest conference! Sharon Carter has over 25 years of optometric experience including working in an office as an office manager, sales and training for an optometric software company, to consulting for private practices. She started her own consulting company, Eye Care Optometric Consulting (ECOC), in 2001 and personally consults in offices all over the country spreading her teambuilding philosophy to help them set and reach new goals. Mark R. Wright, OD, FCOVD CEO of Pathways to Success - Optometrists Mark R. Wright, OD, FCOVD is the CEO of Pathways to Success - Optometrists. Dr. Wright graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry with a doctor of optometry degree in 1980. At that time he purchased an optometry practice that was open two half days a week with one part-time doctor. He grew the practice into a three location, 9 doctor practice. Dr. Wright is also the Director of the Bennett/VSP Business Management Program at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He served three years as chair of the Association of Practice Management Educators and is an active board member of that group. He is the Professional Editor of Review of Optometric Business and the CEO of the Practice Management Center. Dr. Wright has lectured internationally on practice management issues. He wrote Reimbursement and Managed Care (Anadem Publishing) which is in its third edition, and is currently serving on the TSO Board of Directors. Carole R. Burns, OD, FCOVD Dr. Burns graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1984. She completed her vision therapy and pediatric residency at The State University of New York in 1985. She is an assistant clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She is a member of the Central Ohio Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, The AOA Sports Vision Section, and is a Certified Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Burns represents all of Ohio’s optometrists as a member of the Council on Health Information. This organization represents all medical professionals with the goal of improving health care to all people living in Ohio. She is known for the work with children’s vision and patients who have special needs. She is a speaker for the Vision Council of America and lectures nationally on the topics of pediatric vision, binocular vision disorders, sports vision, and learning-related vision disorders.
