It spelled out what the value our members receive for being a part of the Texas State Optical Network. One of the items as part of this value was about, the Education and Learning platform. One of the top opportunity areas of concern, at most optical companies is training. Everyone is always asking for help in the training part of the business. I want to share with you the areas where we have “knowledge” at your fingertips. On-line courses---from basic Optics. 2. On-line courses--- prepare for ABO certification. I will share a story about one of new associates that was hired at our new location in Custer Creek. She had three years of optical experience when hired. She had been studying to take the ABO certification for about two months. While in training, the new associates participated during the three-week ABO certification training. She completed the all the modules online and the subsequent month took and passed the ABO exam. She said that it really prepared her to take the test confidently! Included in your Education and Learning platform is from our preferred lenses/lab production vendor Zeiss. ZEISS Academy 1. E-Learning / Basic Optics. 2. ABO certification / on-line modules. Overall, this is an overview of the tools that are available for your associates to utilize and help with their overall training.
