At our recent Board meeting, I was honored to be elected Chairman for this upcoming year. I say honored and I am, but I’m also a little reluctant because my good friend, Dr. Merl Jackman filled this seat for the past two years. I have been on the board for a while and I can confidently say that Dr. Jackman was the best Chairman our organization has ever had. He set the example and I will do everything I can to live up to the standard that he set.
I would like to congratulate Dr. Leigha Nielsen from Schertz, Texas for her appointment to the board filling the vacancy that was created by the unexpected passing of Dr. Jackman. I’ve known Dr. Nielsen for several years and she will make a tremen- dous contribution to our Network. She has built a very large and suc- cessful practice in a small amount of time and has reached the level of our elite Platinum Practices.
In an effort to provide more commu- nication and connection with mem- bers, the entire Network membership has been divided up among the six shareholder board members, with each director assigned 18 to 20 mem- bers. In this issue you can see who the Directors that have been assigned to all offices within the Network. If you have questions, want information or just need someone to visit with about the organization, contact a Director.
In addition, most of you have prob- ably watched one or all of John Marvin’s video presentations. I think this is a fantastic way of communi- cating with the membership. Many members have commented that they really like these videos, and I know John is committed to keep them coming. He also is holding a monthly conference call on the third Thursday of each month at 8:30 in the morning.
These two presentations along with the Director assignments, this month- ly newsletter, the TSONetworkUpdate website, weekly webinars, Practice Consultant’s weekly conference calls and the TSO Member Group Page on Facebook are all part of the overall effort to keep members informed and offer programs that provide you with real value.
