Dr. Tuan D. Dang practices as a therapeutic optometrist and is also an optometric glaucoma specialist. He is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. His practice philosophy is to build solid relationships with patients and their families by providing outstanding personal patient care through compassion, continuous education and cutting edge technology in eye care.

Dr. Dang graduated cum laude from the University of Houston in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 1994, he received a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston in 2001, and was selected into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for his student leadership.

Dr. Dang completed his optometric internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California and at the VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Dr. Dang was commissioned as a Navy Lieutenant in the Navy Medical Service Corps in June of 2001. He was assigned to Naval Medical Center in San Diego where he served in a variety of clinical and leadership positions in the Optometry department. He returned home to Texas from active duty in October of 2005, and completed his military commitment in June of 2009 with a final rank of Lieutenant Commander. Dr. Dang’s military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Dr. Dang is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Contact Lens Society of America. He has authored articles for professional journals such as Review of Optometry, Primary Care Optometry News, and Eye Witness.
