Provider Statement

A native Texan, Dr. Linda Matocha grew up just south of Houston in Freeport, TX. She did her undergraduate work at University of Houston and graduated from the University of Houston College Of Optometry in 1985. After working for an HMO in Houston for 4 years, Dr. Matocha joined the TSO family in November 1989 at the TSO Memorial City location and later joined the TSO Museum District team in the fall of 2013. Dr. Matocha now splits her time between TSO Memorial City and TSO Museum District. Dr. Matocha is a Therapeutic Optometrist who practices full-scope Optometry including: comprehensive eye examinations, all types of contact lens fittings, dry eye treatment and co-management of LASIK and cataracts.

She and her husband Hal, a native Houstonian and Petroleum Landman, moved from the suburbs to the Museum District area in 2006. Avid sport fans, they support the Houston home teams in baseball, football, basketball and soccer. They combined their love of travel and sports by visiting every major league baseball team's stadium. In 2005, they finished this quest and now want to see the Astros in all the ballparks. As of 2013, they have only missed seeing the Astro’s at the Oakland A's and Texas Rangers stadiums. Together, Dr. Matocha and Hal have also been to all 50 states in the United States. To keep balanced, they also enjoy the Musicals at the Hobby Center and spending time with their very large extended family.

Patient Reviews

Overall Rating:

This place is awesome! I am in town for Grace Hopper conference. After checked in the hotel, I found I forgot to pack my contact lenses. As my prescription is quite high, without contact lenses, I am nearly blind. Found this place near my hotel on Google map and decided to give a try. The staff in the shop were super friendly and helpful. They suggested getting my optometrist at California to fax my prescription to them so that they could help find lenses for me. Long story short, I got 5 pairs of daily disposable lenses right after receiving my prescription! This is total surprise to me as many places don’t have stock of lenses with such high prescription. I am thrilled that I can enjoy the conference now and I can do my chairperson duty in one of the major tracks. -Yolanda Ripley

I'm a former patient of the DWTN TSO office and I now wish I'd never changed optometrists. I had a pair of Marchon that I loved for 3 years which finally broke earlier this year and I ended up having to replace the frames (because the new optometrist didn't carry the Marchon brand,) with another brand which just now broke after having them fewer than 6 months. Will be taking them to my current optometrist for the repair, but when the time comes for my yearly exam, I will be returning to DWTN TSO. Not only were the costs higher, (even with insurance,) the story that Marchon no longer carried the "airlock" line I was given was BS. They obviously never visited the Marchnon website. -Alex C.

This TSO deserves 7 STARS. I've been coming to TSO for years and they have all been really good but this one is by far the Best!! Staff is very professional and greet you with a smile! I won't ever go anywhere else! Ms. Sanchez already and all the other staff make you feel so comfortable and welcome. They get your prescription back very quick. Highly recommended! Bobby D!
