The American Board of Opticianry (ABO) has scheduled the next ABO and NCLE exams for November 15 – 21, 2012.The ABO/NCLE registration deadline is October 1, 2012.
To earn certification, you need to achieve a passing score on an examination. The exam consists of questions on the skills and knowledge required for competency in ophthalmic dispensing.
The cost to sit for the exams is $225 for the ABO and $225 for the NCLE. Each exam consists of up to 125 multiple choice questions; candidates have up to two and a half hours to complete the exam.
Each staff member is responsible for registering and paying for the actual exam.
TSO Network will provide one registration reimbursement for the ABO and NCLE exam fees be staff members one time only, regardless of whether he or she passes the test. All that is required for the reimbursement is proof that the test was taken and a receipt for the payment.
