The American Board of Opticianry (ABO) has scheduled the next ABO and NCLE exams for May 20, 2012.
To earn certification, you need to achieve a passing score on an examination. Both exams consist of questions on the skills and knowledge required for competency in ophthalmic dispensing.
The cost to sit for the exams is $225 for the ABO and $225 for the NCLE. Each exam consists of up to 125 multiple choice questions; candidates have up to two and a half hours to complete the exam. You may request a registration packet from the ABO office by calling 1-800-296-1379 or emailing email@example.com. Along with the application, you will receive several brochures from organizations that offer various study materials to help you prepare for the exams.
Each staff member is responsible for registering and paying for the actual exam. A registration reimbursement for the ABO exam fee will be provided to staff members one time only, regardless of whether he or she passes the test. All that is required for the reimbursement is proof that the test was taken and a receipt for the payment.
Registration deadline is March 20, 2012.
